About Me

I was Wikimedia‘s first Bugmeister and a Free Software professional (I would say “enthusiast”, but I like the sound of “professional” better) and Free Culture advocate.

I’m no longer at Wikimedia, but I’m still involved in the software that runs Wikipedia: MediaWiki.  I do some consulting on it (and other PHP work)

Although software and computers consume a large amount of even my free time, I also have a wife a four children.  I offer this simply as proof that I am not completely socially inept. In what little free time I have left, I enjoy reading and discussing books.  Right  now, most of that reading is around the lives of Orthodox saints and their books, but I also read with my Mennonite neighbor (literally, he lives on the same block and he has some great ideas).
