I met Michael Brunson when the motherboard on my self-hosted (i.e. I had it in my house) server failed. I was working on Poydras Street, right next to the Superdome (in Dominion Tower you see there on the left). I discovered a very nice colocation center just down the street: DirectNic. He was very helpful, and got me set up with a cheap machine really quickly. It seems that DirectNic is still going strong. They’re working hard to keep their OC3s up and stay connected to the world. The dispatches from Michael Barnett’s weblog are an amazing insight to the continuing tragedy there.
