Disaster on Death Row

Almost every Illinois death penalty conviction is being reviewed. Since some 13 death-row inmates were wrongly convicted (some were completely innocent), the governor has stopped all executions.

Lawyers also questioned the legitimacy of a system that has sent men to death row who were later exonerated.

Hopefully, its the beginning of a movement to fewer death row convictions and more deliberation about individual lives.
