Tonight I fixed some outstanding bugs in IO::BLOB::Pg — a perl module for treating Binary Large OBjects in Postgres as regular IO handles. The reason the problems got fixed: smoke testing by cpan-testers. They’ve got automated scripts going over the CPAN testing all the modules. They found two different problems with the module using their automated tests. That, combined with the bug report filed at rt.cpan.org meant I had too many outstanding problems to ignore for much longer. Who knows… now that the tests actually have a chance of succeeding, perhaps people will begin to use it!

What I’d really like to to with this: create a mod_perl based blogging system. There doesn’t appear to be any freely available, dynamic interface out there.
