In watching my own children (and others’), the thing I love the most about them is the joy they find in even the smallest things.
Many of us have become so jaded in our cynicism that we find it very difficult to have joy in anything. We scoff and mock almost everything, and when we do, we deprive ourselves of finding any joy in almost anything.
In fact, Christ said “anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it“, but many times I find that my cynicism keeps me from the here-and-now kingdome of God.
Small children know a lot about joy. Sometimes, it seems they know more than many of the rest of us.
