Last night was great.

Holidays (“Holy Days”) only have meaning when you put some effort into them. When I began fasting after I became Orthodox, Easter/Pascha took on more meaning. Weird as it is, it is awesome to sit down with people in your religious community to actually commune at two o’ clock in the morning. I brought a bottle of wine (I’m saving the beer for later) and shared it. I also remembered why I don’t drink vodka after sharing some cherry vodka with a Russian Orthodox friend.

Oh, and perhaps later this week I’ll go see Spiderman with a friend from church. I’ve been helping him out for the past few months with some things and I’ve come to identify in him a fellow traveler.
