here’s an account of what happened in Andrew

• Evidently there was no shooting on rescue aircraft.


• Children’s hospital not looted


• Despite going without regular food and water for up to five days, the sometimes-unruly crowd marched in an orderly fashion into the parking lot and broke into six single-file lines. This doesn’t match with the reports of extreme violence we heard about.

After wondering for a while, it looks like our old house is still standing. (The red metal roof was our addition to the house.) The flooding extends one block beyond 8222 Cohn Street to just past Hickory Street. For reference, the street never flooded when we lived there.

Rose, however, will be getting a new roof. A tree has fallen on her house.
